As with any system of judgment in any country Patna, the capital of Bihar, has its own high courts which acts as the ruling for all the criminal activity that happens in the city. Patna has a low crime rate as it is but when crime does happen, the High Court of Patna is there to enforce the laws and make sure judgment is served.
The key job of the Patna High Court is to run civil and criminal cases to keep human rights and basic morals high in the minds of the cities people. The High Court of Patna is a serious court of law and works to keep the constitution intact and followed as closely as was intended.
The Patna High Court also runs all of the main cases that Bihar in general has. Since Patna is the capital of Bihar it is the highest court in the state and a very influential one as well. The Patna High Court opened its doors in 1916 and started working cases the very same year. From 1916-1947 the court continued to increase by adding judges to their panel to make for more diversity.
Once India gained independence and became a republic (January 26, 1950) the Patna High Court was able to enjoy increased freedom in the way they ruled the countries hearings. Under the new constitution, the Patna High Court is able to enforce the rights of India as well as govern the other district courts.
As the highest court system in India, the Patna High Court has a lot of say in the jurisdiction in the city of Patna and the country of India as a whole.

The actual building of Patna’s High Court was laid on December 1, 1913 and the building was finished and the court began ruling in 1916. Since then the Patna High Court has been the legal standpoint of all of India. India gained independence in 1950, which gave the court the power to uphold their constitution to their own degree as their own republic. India is governed much by the High Court and it keeps order in the city of Patna.
The Patna High Court takes it judgeship very seriously and its list of Honorable Judges is long and filled with experience. The judges move about the various district courts that are spread about India, with a focus in Bihar. The judges of the High Court have a high standing among the people of Patna because they are the ones with legal power to make binding decisions.
The Patna High Court is a place where many go when disputes arise and where many are punished for crimes and civil cases.
